Trying to bring some positivity into the everyday
Who am I?
Hi, My names Rachel. Great to meet you!
I work in cyber security, so I spend most of my days sitting behind a desk. I have a lot of hobbies and interests though which keep me busy. Scroll to find out more about me and about where Hidden Happiness came from
I’m a 25 year old who lives in the south of England.

7 facts about me
- I love tech. I’ve always loved technology and how it can help people. I found my way to cybersecurity to help sell technology to protect companies by accident but it really is a dream job of mine.
- I’m an animal lover. Whether it be my greyhound, a cow at a farm or the fish I see in the sea, I love all animals. I’ll often be found at parties with the pets in the corner.
- I used to be a competitive gymnast and swimmer. When I was younger I was a very active person, training lots gave me an outlet which really helped. Unfortunately, it had a bad effect on my body leaving me with some injuries which made me stop. I still enjoy sports and being as active as I can.
- I enjoy exploring and travelling. I haven’t travelled much but I enjoy seeing new places and cultures.
- When I’m not exploring I love playing video games. Born from playing Nintendo handheld consoles, I found a love for games very young, this only continued as I got older. I now enjoy a large breath of video games, from MMO’s to small indie titles.
- In my spare time, I study as much as I can. Being an athlete taught me to be smart with my time, so when I have a couple of months with nothing on, I’ll book myself onto courses, and learn a new hobby. I’m currently studying at the Open University to finish my degree.
- I am a relatively negative person! This might be slightly confusing but I am usually a glass-half-empty person. Writing this blog is helping me try and see more positives.
When did I think of Hidden Happiness?
With life moving so quickly it can be very easy to miss out on the small details of life. It was one of these fast-moving days that everything was getting a bit much and so I stepped outside, took out my headphones and just took a deep breath. It was then that I noticed so many little things around me that I had missed for so long.
It then made me realise that so many of us push full steam ahead and miss out on these moments. This was when the idea was born. I wanted to shine a light on these little moments and make sure that we take time for them.

What is Hidden Happiness’s purpose?
I want to build a community of people who want to hear about people’s little wins. I also want to be able to share things to help break the habits of negativity and allow anyone to see the beauty in the world – as hard as it can sometimes be to find.
