Laughter, Memories, and the Magic of Old Friends

It’s funny how time moves. One day we’re starting the year, and then we’re into the second half! Weeks blur into months, and before you know it, you haven’t seen your friends in months. No matter what though, meeting up with an old friend feels like stepping into your own little bubble. Back to laughing at the same jokes, remembering memories of past events like no time has passed at all. Today, we’re looking at some of the small joys of meeting up with friends and family.

Memories that matter

Having memories with people makes it so easy to connect. Whether it be friends since school, or maybe worked together. I’ve found connections from so many elements of life. All the inside jokes and memories we have together make us all smile and continue to keep us close. No matter what we’re going through, those memories will always be with us to cheer us up.

Friendship bubble

When seeing friends, it feels like you’ve stepped into a timeless expanse. Phones are left untouched, and time flies because you’re just living in the moment. Being in that bubble makes it feel like it’s just you two and your conversations. It’s so nice to take a break from the real world and just catch up.

Talking of places to catch up, here are some good spaces to have a good catch-up with friends:

  • Coffee shops – great to grab a drink with your friend and have a good catch-up
  • Walks – good for some exercise and make the most of the good weather. If you want to know the benefits of walking, click here to read more
  • Back garden meetup – sometimes it’s nice to head over to someone’s house and chill with all the home comforts.

Laughter like no other

No one can make me laugh more than my friends. I know that meeting up with them means that my cheeks hurt from smiling. Friends seem to always know how to cheer you up and make the most mundane coffee date seem like a comedy club. Those little moments always fill me with happiness, and I feel so grateful to have friends like that.

Friends Life updates

Catching up with a friend means finding out about the details of their life since you last saw them. Hearing about their holiday, how their families are, or what’s going on at their job. All these small details bring us back up to date and help bring friends closer together. I love hearing how my friends are doing – good or bad! Knowing that you have people there who can celebrate your life achievements with you makes it much more worthwhile.

If you haven’t seen one of your friends in a while, maybe send them a message. Set up a coffee date or even just a phone call to have a chat. If you have a favourite place to meet friends, let us know in the comments.
